Noopept
Noopept, a synthetic nootropic compound, is often grouped with the class of nootropic compounds called racetams. However, Noopept has a very different chemical structure. It was developed in 1996.
What is Noopept?
Noopept [(N-phenylacetyl-L-prolylglycine ethyl ester)] is a nootropic chemical compound.
Noopept Uses
Noopept can be used for cognitive enhancement.
Noopept Benefits
The mechanism of action for Noopept has been studied in animals (which may not produce similar effects in humans). This research has suggested that Noopept may:
Increase alpha and beta brain waves, while decreasing delta brain waves[1]
It has also been suggested that Noopept may interact with neurotrophin and acetylcholine in the brain, but it is not fully understood.[1]
Noopept Side Effects
No irreversible, toxic changes were noted in mice who received doses between 10-100 mg/kg.[2]
